Privacy Notice

1. Who is responsible

DataConView is the controller of your account data. It operates dataconview.com and the application behind sign-in. For personal data contained inside documents you upload, you are the controller and DataConView processes it only on your instructions. Questions and requests go via the contact page at /contact.

2. Data categories

Account data: your email address and sign-in records. Passwords are handled by the sign-in provider and never stored by DataConView.

Billing data: a subscription identifier and status from the payment processor; card numbers never reach DataConView.

Documents and outputs: files you submit and their converted or extracted results. Job metadata: file names, sizes, timestamps and processing status.

3. Purposes

The data is used to run the service: to perform the conversions and extractions you request, to let you retrieve results, to account for your plan's quota, and to bill the plan you chose. Documents are not read for any other purpose, are not used to train models, and are not sold or shared with advertisers.

4. Retention

Documents and outputs are deleted when you delete them or close your account. Job metadata is kept for the current billing period plus the period needed to resolve disputes. Billing records are kept only as long as tax and accounting law requires.

5. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR you can ask for access to the personal data held about you, for correction of anything inaccurate, for erasure, for restriction of processing, for a portable copy, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests.

Requests are answered within one month. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office. Rights over personal data inside a document someone else uploaded should be addressed to that uploader as controller; DataConView will assist as processor.

6. Processors

A sign-in provider handles authentication, a payment processor handles subscriptions, a transactional email provider delivers account email, and object storage and infrastructure providers host the service and its backups. Each processes personal data only on DataConView's instruction and for no purpose of its own.
